Meriam Ibrahim

Hey guys. For those of you who haven't heard, Meriam Ibrahim, a pregnant wife and mother of an 18-month-old child, is sentenced to receive 100 lashes and then death by hanging by the Sudanese government. Her crime? Believing in Jesus Christ as Lord.

This amazing sister in the faith has refused to recant her faith in Jesus, even in the face of death, and for it, she will be martyred unless we do something. Sudan is only waiting for her baby to be born before they carry out their "judgment". The 100 lashes are for her "adultery" in marrying a Christian man, and hanging is for her "apostasy" in "leaving" the Muslim faith (her father was a Muslim, so by Sudanese law, she must remain a Muslim as well).

What can we do? First off, we need to spread the word of this injustice to all we know! Post about this on Facebook, G+, Blogger, or any other social network sight you have joined! E-mail your friends and family; get the word out!

Also, you can sign the petition the ACLJ has put together for Meriam's freedom by following this link: http://beheardproject.com/meriam#sign

You can learn more about Meriam's story by following this link: http://www.onenewsnow.com/ap/religion/sudanese-woman-sentenced-to-death-for-marrying-a-christian#.U3t_8YlOX4Y

Finally, pray for this sister in Christ! I cannot imagine what she must be feeling right now. Let us pray that she will be freed as soon as possible, but until then, that God will give her strength, as I know He will, to stand strong.
