Tim B. the pitcher!

After tearing it up against the pitching machine, Rookie League standout Tim B. made the jump to Minors a year early. Though it has been tough at times for the nine-year-old prospect, playing against mostly ten and eleven year olds, Tim B. is adjusting quickly. He has collected his first few hits of the season in the past few games--including a 2 RBI double to left-center during Mossy's recent tournament--and his defense has vastly improved.

But no one imagined what he could do on the mound.

Given the opportunity to pitch during one of many Mossyrock blowouts, Tim did not disappoint. Fighting off the first-time jitters, the young pitcher did not allow a hit or run, striking out the side between two walks.

"I felt nervous, very nervous," said Timmy on his first pitching experience, "but (I was) excited at the same time."

A couple of games later, Tim B. got another chance to pitch. This time, as the starter. So, what was it like starting off a baseball game for the first time?

"It felt awesome. When my coach said I was going to pitch the first inning, I was very, very surprised," said Tim. "I struck out six in three innings, but the third inning was a little iffy. They got five runs off of me, which is the limit. That was it for pitching for me."

Not "it" forever, turns outs, as Tim got another chance to pitch today! And he did fantastic, as you can see.

Tim B. threw one perfect inning tonight, striking out the side in order--quite an achievement for a nine year old! The future is bright for this young prospect. Good work, Tim B!
