Kyle's Clipper is about to set sail! Thank goodness the sun has finally decided to come out, and the grass is starting to grow! I e-mailed my four lawn customers from last year a couple of days ago to confirm about mowing again this year. I have heard back from three of them so far, all of them affirming that they would like me to mow for them this year! Combining those with the two other lawns I have picked up this spring, and I have a good start on my goal of servicing 20 lawns!
Check out my latest purchase: a riding mower! She (yes, it is a she, as the mower is too sleek to be a he) ;0) is a 2008 Cub Cadet 42" deck that was owned by my lawn mower mechanic--which means she is in great shape! As you can see from the picture, the mower looks almost brand-new! Any suggestions on what I should call her?
I can't wait to mow my lawns now, just to use her! It will be nice to have the option of hopping on a mower instead of pushing one around!
I tuned-up all my equipment in the past few days as well. Everything is running smoothly! With the purchase of a hedge trimmer (yes, my savings account has been dropping like a rock), I am now set up to do most anything lawn related! Now all I need is more customers. :0) To that effect, I put out some fliers today!
Also, I finally worked out most of the bugs from my website! Check it out here: kylesclipper.com
I have seen God's hand in so many ways as I have prepared to begin my business. He has made everything come together, and He has blessed me above and beyond what I ever deserved--which is nothing. I have already posted about how God led me to just the right truck. In much the same way, He worked out circumstances just right so that I found the perfect riding mower above. A random phone call to my mechanic to ask him if he would recommend JD or Craftsman mowers more turned out to be just the first providential step to the mower God had for me!
Also, a church friend incredibly blessed me by giving me his lawn equipment! He ended up giving me probably about $1000 worth of equipment--for the $130 in cash that I had with me at the time! What an amazing gift! I can't help but praise God for all that He has done for me!
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)
This verse is so true! Praise God! The chapter continues:
Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:12-13 NIV)
It is not only my desire to seek my Lord and Savior with all my heart, but that all reading this would too! God is good, all the time! He works all things together for good to those that love Him! He could take everything I own from me, and I can still praise Him because I know He has saved me from eternal death and has prepared a place for me that far surpasses anything in this world!
So, will you seek God?

ReplyDeleteAwesome, Kyle! Hope your business does amazing!
ReplyDeleteAnd for names for your mower.... Well, one of the first things that comes to mind is triceps because of the name of your truck..... But then I just don't know if that's right! ;)
That's so exciting Kyle. It's encouraging to see how God has been providing for you, and how you've stepped out in faith relying on Him to meet your needs. I hope God continues to bless you, and your business. Your website looks great! Did you do it all yourself?
ReplyDeleteBTW My suggestion for the tractor's name is Hershey:) I don't know why.... It just popped into my head when I saw the picture of it:) I guess that's a bit of randomness for the day:)
Thanks, Jordan! I mowed my first lawns today!! Triceps just doesn't sound right. I don't know why .. . :0P
ReplyDeleteElanee: Thanks! Yes, I made the website myself. It took some trial and error. :0)
