No "Pub-lemo" -- My book is published!

Hi blog followers! It is my uttermost joy to share with you all that finally, after years of dedicated work, my book The Crossroads of the Other World is published! This book, written when I was 14, was the first story I ever completed and holds a special place in my heart. I wrote it with pencil and paper, never dreaming that someday I could hold the result of my work in such a glorious package as a shining, new-published book! But here it is, that very package on the desk before me! (Please excuse my overuse of exclamation points; I am just so happy!) :0)

Publishing my book was a long process. Copying my book onto the computer, the round after round of editing by me and several kind family members, finding a publisher, and publishing my book took nearly three years. In the end, though, it is a process I am glad I embarked on! I published my book with FriesenPress, a company that helps aspiring authors self-publish their works. FriesenPress was awesome! The people that worked with me from that company were very nice and helpful.

Now that my book is published, I want to invite you all to embark on a journey to the Other World, a fantastic place of talking animals, elves, halflings, and many other such creatures. It is a world reminiscent of C. S. Lewis's Narnia, and a world were an epic adventure can be had. You will be swept into battle and desperate peril. In the end, though, the journey's sole purpose is to get you thinking about eternal themes here on this world, for much like Lewis, I make my best (if novice) attempt at telling a Christian analogy through The Crossroads of the Other World. My writing is far from perfectit will take much practice and a good editor for it to ever be sobut it is my hope that you would enjoy reading my book.

If you want to embark on this journey, there are two ways to buy my book. First, you can request a copy of my book from me, as I have extra copies at hand. To do so, send your request to my e-mail, crossroadsranch1@gmail.com, and I will send you a copy of my book as soon as possible. Shoot, I can even give you a copy signed by the author for no extra charge, come to think of it. :0) Copies of my book sold by me are $15, with a $3.50 shipping feea small price for a ticket to another world, don't you think? For those of you nearby, we can of course avoid the shipping fee; I will get a book to you the next time we meet up.

Also, you can buy my book from the FriesenPress bookstore for $16.99 (not including shipping). After shipping, this option will probably be a dollar or two more than buying a copy from me, however, and I actually would prefer you using option one, as I have a certain amount of copies at hand that I would like to sell. In any case, who would turn down a chance to get an author-signed copy? ;0)

Here is the synopsis of my book:

Join the adventure of Aaron, Amy, and Michael, three teens who are thrust into a world inhabited by elves, halflings, talking animals, and other such mystical creatures. In this other realm, there are many paths—both good and bad—as well as magic swords that can not only guide their bearers to the good way, but guard them from the path leading to death. The three teens are soon plunged into plans of a war between the ancient powers of light and darkness and must travel to Burrowhill, a halfling city, to save it from destruction. But after one of the teens chooses a path leading into enemy hands, his friends embark on a desperate journey to save him . . . before it is too late.

From fierce battles with foul creatures, to a journey into the beautiful elven city of Evantiell, the teens and their friends must trust more and more in their swords, and the lord who made them, as they become brave warriors for the light.

Please don't feel obligated in any way to buy my book; I completely understand if you would rather not. I just had to get the word out! To those of you who are willing to buy a copy of my book, I offer a big thank you in advance and hope you are pleased with my writing! And who says you only have to buy one copy? While you keep your exclusive author-signed copy "close to the vest", you could also have a few other "normal" copies ready to share with those friends who like to borrow, but never return, your books. Ah ha! There is an idea. :0)

No matter what, thank you, friends and family, for sharing in this exciting day of my life!
